5 THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR
- If they do not have a website… or at least a landing page. If they’re not investing in themselves, they might not invest a lot in you. You can make a website for free almost anywhere, and heck, I started out with a free version of my website. Every vendor needs a website to further go into details on who they are and what they do. Especially photographers and coordinators since you spend a ton of time with these two vendors.
- If they do not have business insurance. This is not a hard thing to obtain. And most venues will require it. You don’t even need a business license to obtain insurance. If they aren’t covered, just know that any “oops” moments that happen on your wedding day, you will most likely be responsible for paying.
- If they do not have reviews of their services. This one speaks for itself. Make sure to take into account the bad reviews too.
- If they wear white to your wedding. I should not even have to say this, but I have seen one too many coordinators and assistants wear a white shirt with black pants or jeans, or even a black /grey romper. It’s great in theory, but this is the BRIDE’s day. Not your coordinator. Blacks and neutral colors only. Or if they wear a t-shirt and jeans instead of black slacks…omggggg don’t even get me started on this!
- If they do not have your best interests at heart. Most of us do, but there’s always someone who ruins it for the rest. I’m going to make sure that you don’t do anything other than smile and have fun on your wedding day. But again, I’ve seen coordinators who don’t even make sure their couples have water after the ceremony. Come on dude, these people havent had water for probably at least an hour wearing a big, heavy dress and a three piece suit. Use your brain, coordinators.
