Planning a Kid-Friendly Wedding Ceremony

Let’s face it, you’ll probably invite a couple with small children to your wedding. Some people don’t want kids at weddings, but others do. It’s your day, so what you want is what matters. I had nearly fifty kids at my wedding and it was great. It really depends on what you want.

To keep children from causing trouble at the wedding, plan ahead to make them feel included. For example, you might want to provide entertainment for them, like coloring pages and kid-friendly music. For food, offer kid-friendly options like macaroni and cheese or chicken fingers. If the kids like the food and stay busy eating, they’ll be less cranky.

Another idea is to hire a babysitter for the ceremony. This gives the kids an alternative to sitting through a long ceremony. Remember to pay the babysitter and have one for every 10 kids, depending on their ages. If you’re having an outdoor wedding, keep the kids inside during the ceremony and vice versa.

Now to talk about kids in your wedding ceremony. I can understand the importance of why you would like to involve children in your wedding party. It’s wonderful to want to include all your family members, but it’s crucial to keep in mind that children have short attention spans and may become restless during a long church service.

Although they may look adorable in their outfits, they can be quite unpredictable, particularly those under the age of four. If you do choose to involve children, it’s best to approach it with flexibility and have a backup plan in case they are not able to participate as expected. It’s also important to think about providing appropriate entertainment and food to keep them engaged and content throughout the event.
