Ask anyone: eating before you walk down the aisle is so crucial.
Many brides are so nervous on the day of their wedding that they can’t eat anything. Or they’re so busy with last minute tasks that they forget to have a meal. Or they wanna look stunning in their dress, and plan from the beginning, not to eat anything. And if you add caffeine to an empty tummy? Well this is just not good…
Not eating can also wreck havoc on your face. If you don’t eat anything on your wedding day, you could end up with some sallow-looking skin and circles under your eyes.
The best plan of action on your wedding day is to eat foods with carbohydrates and protein in them. The combination of the two will raise your blood sugar level and give you the energy you need to make it through the ceremony.
What are some good options?
- Lean proteins such as chicken, turkey, or fish.
- Fresh fruits like berries, apples, and oranges.
- Vegetables such as spinach, kale, broccoli, and bell peppers.
- Whole grains like quinoa, brown rice, and oats.
- Greek yogurt or low-fat cottage cheese for a protein boost.
- Nuts and seeds for healthy fats and energy.
- Smoothies made with fruits and vegetables.
- Avocado for its healthy fats and fiber.
- Eggs, either boiled, scrambled, or poached.
- Hummus with sliced veggies.
These options provide nutrients, energy, and hydration without leaving you feeling bloated or sluggish. All this to say, you need food. Your body needs food. Your mind needs food. And your soul needs food. Even a few bites is better than nothing!!
