Simple Yet Elegant Table Decorations for Your Wedding

Décor is not as big of a deal for your wedding as Pinterest makes it out to be. I’m sure, once you got engaged, you went on Pinterest and saw all these inspirational photos… and don’t get me wrong, they are beautiful but they are also always over the top. Plus, remember, most of your guests will not remember what any of your decorations looked like (and if you don’t spend a whole lot of time with your venue before your wedding, you also may not remember what they looked like).

People are going to be there: having a good time, socializing, eating, dancing, and not just staring at your centerpieces. Now, I am not saying “don’t have wedding décor.” I am just saying that you don’t need to spend as lot of money on decorations or go over the top with décor. Having a super pretty venue that is already decorated with its own charm will also help save you money on décor.

Now when decorating your tables, I do have a few tricks to make them look nicer and fuller. Honestly, when decorating your tables, you should consider them as more than a center piece; they should reflect your personal style and set the mood for the occasion. You have plates, you have napkins, cups, cutlery…there is a ton of stuff on the tables that you can arrange in a variety of ways, that look very high end.

For example, layering different textures with your table linens can create visual interest and depth, while using varied heights for your centerpieces can draw the eye and keep guests engaged. Using a charger plate (you can get them at the dollar store) always adds formality to your tables and turns an ordinary setup into something truly special. There are plenty of color options, ranging from metallic to vibrant tones, but the thing to remember with these is not everyone knows they are decorations and I have seen a few people eat off of them, which can be a humorous yet perplexing moment. To prevent this, it’s a great idea to communicate with your guests, perhaps through well-placed signage or by design, ensuring they understand the decorative elements of your beautifully curated table setting.
